In the 10th
Forum of the European Network of Sport Science, Education and Employment
– ENSSEE held in Sicilia, Italy, the Euro-American Network
was present at the Scuola dello Sport Giambattista Cartia, the venue
of the event on behalf of the organization invitation.

T he participation
consisted of a conference, where Professor. Dr. Estélio Dantas,
Secretary General of REMH, talked about the Pilot Project of AEHESIS
South America.
AEHESIS is a project titled as 'Aligning a European
Higher Educational Structure
In Sport Science (http://www.aehesis.de/HTML/Welcome.htm),
which ENSSEE has developed since 2002 and aims to carry out a survey
and evaluation about training in Physical Education in Europe to
enable adaptation to the Bologna Convention and homogenization of
this training.
With AEHESIS conclusion, two pathways were taken for its continuity:
1) Launch of the Sophelia Project (http://www.eseip.eu/index.php)
which is the European Platform of Sport Education;
2) Launch of the South America Pilot AEHESIS Project (http://www.redeuromh.com/aehesis.htm),
developed from September 2008 to August 2009, by REMH that consisted
of translation, adaptation and validation of the AEHESIS standard
questionnaires into Portuguese and Spanish, and their application
in 16 universities in Latin America.
Present at
the exhibition of the pilot project report were all the members
of the ENSSEE board, those responsible for all the areas of ENSSEE
(Physical Education; Fitness and Health; Sport and Management),
Dr. Karen Petry (General Coordinator of AEHESIS) and several professors
from 86 universities members of ENSSEE.
After presenting the project report, Dr. Walter Tokarski, President
of ENSSEE and Dean of the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln, said
that due to the success achieved by the pilot study he saw great
possibilities of launching AEHESIS Latin America in 2010, with funding
from the European Aid Cooperation Office, through its Latin American
Academic Training Project - ALFA.
The AEHESIS Latin America will (from the Universities members in
the pilot study) carry out a complete and thorough survey of the
job market and training in Physical Education and Sports in Latin
America.
This action will be implemented through the Euro-American Network
– REMH and coordinated by ENSSEE.
